The Matchday
LaLiga, the 9-12 October round in numbers: form, head-to-heads and margins match by match
Ten matches as the league resumes after the break: how much each operator holds back, a Barcelona side with a perfect record, and head-to-heads the archive doesn't have in three cases.
Published 3 October 2026
After the break, ten matches between Friday 9 and Monday 12 October. For each we measured four things: position and points, recent form, head-to-head records from our archive, and how much each operator holds back on the full-time result. No tips and no prices in the text: they live in the table further down, which fills from the feed when you open the page.
How much the book holds back, operator by operator
The margin is what the operator holds back across the sum of the three outcomes: the only number that compares two books without depending on who is playing. Across these ten matches:
| Operator | Median margin | Lowest | Highest |
|---|---|---|---|
| Netwin | 4.99% | 4.73% | 5.59% |
| Betsson | 6.29% | 6.08% | 6.89% |
| Betflag | 7.06% | 6.27% | 7.50% |
Read on 3 October 2026 at 14:45 Italian time, all three columns from the same pass. Netwin doesn't price Rayo Vallecano-Athletic Club: its column covers nine matches. Prices will still move: the odds table further down is the current one.
Netwin is the cheapest on all nine matches it prices. Betsson costs less than Betflag on nine matches out of ten, and on Racing Santander-Valencia the two hold back the same 6.27%. Across the nine matches with three operators, the distance between dearest and cheapest runs from 1.40 points on Racing Santander-Valencia to 2.61 on Málaga-Espanyol. On Rayo-Athletic there are two operators, and the 1.07-point gap can't be compared with the others.
The previous round, 18-20 September, with the margins measured then: LaLiga, the round in numbers: form, head-to-heads and margins
Barcelona-Getafe: seven wins from seven
Barcelona are top on 21 points, seven wins from seven rounds, 31 goals scored and 7 conceded: 4.43 goals per game. Getafe are eleventh on 8 points and have scored 4, 0.57 per game. Across the six most recent meetings in the archive, all league fixtures since August 2023, Barcelona won four and two were drawn. It is the most expensive match of the round on Betsson, 6.89%.
Three sides within a point, behind
Atlético Madrid and Real Betis have 16 points, Real Madrid 15. Only Atlético play away.
Alavés-Atlético Madrid (Sat 10, 16:15): Alavés are sixth on 11 points. Six league meetings between October 2019 and April 2024: three Atlético wins, one draw and two for Alavés, including the most recent, 2-0 in April 2024.
Real Madrid-Villarreal (Sat 10, 21:00): Villarreal are ninth on 8 points and have conceded 12. Of the six most recent meetings, since January 2023, five are league fixtures and one a Copa del Rey tie: across all competitions, four Real wins, one draw, the 4-4 of May 2024, and one for Villarreal. It is the match where Netwin holds back least, 4.73%.
Real Betis-Osasuna (Sun 11, 18:30): Osasuna are thirteenth and have conceded 13, 1.86 per game. Six meetings since January 2023, five in the league and one in the Copa del Rey: three Betis wins, one draw, two for Osasuna.
Levante-Sevilla: Levante won the last two
Sevilla are fifth on 13 points, Levante seventeenth on 5 with a match in hand. Across the six meetings in the archive Sevilla won four, but the two most recent went to Levante: 0-3 in Seville in January 2026 and 2-0 in April 2026.
The other five, briefly
- Málaga-Espanyol (Fri 9, 21:00) — Málaga are bottom with 3 points and 3 goals scored in seven matches. The archive holds no meetings between the two: that doesn't mean they have never met. It is the match with the widest gap between the three operators, 2.61 points.
- Rayo Vallecano-Athletic Club (Sat 10, 14:00) — both on 8 points, Athletic with a match in hand. Six league meetings since September 2022: four Athletic wins and two draws, none for Rayo.
- Elche-Celta Vigo (Sun 11, 14:00) — four meetings, all league fixtures, three won by Celta, but the most recent is from April 2023. It is the most expensive match on Betflag, 7.50%, and on Netwin, 5.59%, and the cheapest on Betsson, 6.08%.
- Real Sociedad-Deportivo (Sun 11, 16:15) — eighth and seventh, both on 10 points. The archive finds no meetings here, but probably because Deportivo is filed under another name: it isn't a figure, and we don't give it.
- Racing Santander-Valencia (Sun 11, 21:00) — Racing have conceded 21 goals in seven matches, 3 per game; Valencia are nineteenth on 4 points. No meetings in the archive. It is the match where the three operators sit closest, 1.40 points.

How to read these numbers
Athletic Club and Levante have played six matches, the rest seven: that's why we talk about the 9-12 October round rather than a matchday number. Form looks at the last five league matches.
Head-to-head records come from the openfootball archive: on two matches the meetings quoted are not all league fixtures, and we said so. «The last six» means the six most recent the archive holds: there are 26 between Barcelona and Getafe, 25 between Real Madrid and Villarreal.
