LaLiga, the round in numbers: form, head-to-heads and margins

On this round a single operator publishes a price, so the comparison between books cannot be made. Barcelona are scoring 4.2 goals a game, Valencia have scored one in five rounds.

Ten matches between Friday 18 and Sunday 20 September: position and points, recent form, head-to-head records from our archive, and the book's margin on the full-time result. No tips, and no price written into the text — the odds live in the table that fills from the feed when you open the page.

On this round the comparison between books cannot be made

That is the first thing to say, and it is about us. Across the ten matches of this round the only operator publishing all three outcomes is Betsson. Betflag and Netwin price other LaLiga matches in the listing, but none of these ten: the comparison this site exists for, here and now, isn't there.

So the margins that follow belong to one operator, and should be read that way. On Betsson the round's median is 6.54%: from 5.99% on Athletic Club-Alavés to 7.63% on Atlético-Real Madrid, the most expensive match of the day. Read on 14 September 2026 at 16:26 Italian time.

For a point of comparison: across the whole LaLiga listing Betsson's median is 6.52% on twenty matches, Betflag's 6.60% on ten and Netwin's 4.99% on nine. The three figures don't rest on the same sample, which is why they have to be read alongside the match counts.

The picture across seven competitions: How much the margin changes between leagues

Today's table won't be Friday's

The positions and points that follow are a snapshot taken on 14 September. Between the 14th and the 17th, though, LaLiga plays another ten matches: eighteen of the twenty sides we discuss take the field before the round we're previewing, and their figures will change. Of the competitions we follow, this is the one where that caveat weighs most.

Barcelona are scoring 4.2 goals a game

Fifteen points from fifteen, five wins in five rounds, 4.2 goals scored and 0.8 conceded: comfortably the highest scoring average of the round. They travel to Sevilla, fifth with ten points.

Across the last six meetings the archive holds, all league fixtures between September 2023 and March 2026, Barcelona won five and Sevilla one — but that one they won 4-1, in October 2025.

Valencia have scored one goal in five rounds

Bottom of the table, one point, 0.2 goals per game: a single goal in the league so far, and two conceded per game. They host Real Sociedad, twelfth with seven points from six rounds. The last six meetings are level, two wins each and two draws, and run from November 2022 to May 2026.

The Madrid derby, and two meetings that aren't league matches

Atlético-Real Madrid is the most expensive match of the round at 7.63% on Betsson. Real arrive second with twelve points from five rounds, Atlético fourth with ten.

The head-to-head is perfectly level — two wins each and two draws — but it should be read for what it is: six meetings between September 2022 and February 2024, two of which are Copa del Rey ties, not league matches.

Two matches with no head-to-head, and one whose record is eight years old

Celta Vigo-Racing Santander and Deportivo-Real Betis have no head-to-head record in our archive at all. That doesn't mean they have never met: it means the archive doesn't hold it, and for those two matches that figure doesn't exist for us.

Getafe-Málaga has six meetings, all league fixtures, but they run from September 2014 to May 2018. The record exists and doesn't inform: those are two squads that no longer exist.

The other four, briefly

  • Espanyol-Elche (Fri 18, 21:00) — Elche are nineteenth and concede 2.6 goals per game. Six meetings since October 2022, four in LaLiga and two in the Segunda División: Elche have never won, three Espanyol wins and three draws. Margin 6.85%.
  • Osasuna-Rayo Vallecano (Sat 19, 14:00) — four Osasuna wins across the last six meetings, all league fixtures. Rayo concede 2.8 goals per game, the highest figure of the round. Margin 6.46%.
  • Athletic Club-Alavés (Sat 19, 16:15) — Alavés are third with ten points, Athletic ninth with seven. Six meetings since February 2020: five LaLiga and one Copa del Rey. It carries the lowest margin of the round, 5.99%.
  • Villarreal-Levante (Sun 20, 18:30) — Villarreal are eighteenth with two points from four rounds, Levante thirteenth with five. Across the last six meetings Villarreal have won five, the most recent 5-1 last May. Margin 6.19%.

How to read these numbers

Five rounds is not many: an average of 4.2 goals per game is a true figure and a rate nobody sustains across a season. The form sequence looks at a team's most recent LaLiga matches within the last 120 days, so it can include the tail of last season.

Head-to-head records come from the openfootball archive and cover every competition: on three of the eight matches that have one, the meetings quoted are not all LaLiga, and we specified it case by case. «The last six» means the six most recent the archive holds, not every match ever played: there are 30 between Atlético and Real, 29 between Sevilla and Barcelona.

There are no line-ups, injuries or suspensions: we don't have them. The comparison across operators, where it exists, is on the odds page; standings and statistics in their own section.
