What Serie A 2026-27 squads are worth, and how much it shows in the table
The twenty squads are worth €6.08 billion by Transfermarkt's estimates, and Inter almost nine times Lecce. After seven matchdays the table looks little like that order; over the last 13 seasons, by the end, the most valuable starting XI won the title 9 of 13 times.

The twenty Serie A 2026-27 squads are worth €6.08 billion in total, according to Transfermarkt's market estimates read on 25 October 2026 across 579 players. Inter top the list at €738.3m, Lecce sit at the bottom with €82.6m: almost nine times less.
After seven matchdays the table follows that order only in part. Lazio, ninth by value, have as many points as Inter; Fiorentina, eighth, are eighteenth. But seven matches are few, and Serie A's recent history says that by the end of the season values weigh a lot again. No predictions: below are only the measurements, today's and those of the past 13 seasons.

The table covers each team's first seven matches: some have already played their eighth, which we leave out, so that every team is compared over the same number of games. Teams level on points are ordered by goal difference.
Who is above their value, and who is below
The largest gaps, in either direction:
- Lazio — ninth by value at €262.1m, second in the table with 19 points, as many as Inter, who are worth almost three times as much.
- Frosinone — eighteenth by value, sixth with 13 points. Theirs is also the squad whose value has risen most since the summer: +50% on the June estimates, for the players who already had one in June.
- Cagliari — sixteenth by value, seventh with 13 points.
- Fiorentina — eighth by value at €353.3m, eighteenth with 4 points.
- Juventus — second by value at €613.6m, eighth with 11 points.
- Bologna — tenth by value, fifteenth with 5 points.
To measure how alike two orderings are, we use rank correlation: 1 if they match, 0 if they have nothing to do with each other. Between squad value and points after seven matchdays it is 0.52 today. Between starting-XI value at the start of the season and the final table, over the last 13 seasons, it averaged 0.83.
What happened over the last 13 seasons
For the seasons from 2013-14 to 2025-26 we took, for each team, the average value of the starting XI over the first five matches, using the Transfermarkt estimates in force before each match, and compared it with the final table. Teams are grouped by their rank by value:
| Rank by value | Teams | Average final points | Titles | In the top four | Relegated |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | 13 | 85.2 | 9 | 12 | 0 |
| 2nd to 4th | 39 | 73.4 | 4 | 23 | 0 |
| 5th to 7th | 39 | 64.2 | 0 | 13 | 0 |
| 8th to 10th | 39 | 50.8 | 0 | 3 | 2 |
| 11th to 14th | 52 | 44.3 | 0 | 1 | 4 |
| 15th to 17th | 39 | 39.2 | 0 | 0 | 9 |
| 18th to 20th | 39 | 32.2 | 0 | 0 | 24 |
The most valuable XI at the start of the season won the title 9 of 13 times. The four exceptions are Milan in 2021-22 and Napoli in 2024-25, fourth by value, Napoli in 2022-23, third, and Inter in 2023-24, second. No title went to a team outside the top four by value, and no team in the top seven was relegated. Of the 39 teams among the three least valuable, 24 went down.
The leaders after seven matchdays, on the other hand, won the title 7 of 13 times. Over the same seasons the correlation between points after seven matches and the final table averaged 0.77: a little less than that of squad value.
Since 2013-14, 37 teams had 4 points or fewer after seven matches: 18 were relegated, 19 stayed up. This season there are five: Udinese, Genoa, Fiorentina and Parma on 4 points, Venezia on 3.
The most valuable players
The highest estimates in the league, as of 25 October: Lautaro Martínez (Inter) €85m, Nico Paz (Como) €80m, Kenan Yıldız (Juventus) €75m, Alessandro Bastoni (Inter) €65m, Manu Koné (Roma) and Rasmus Højlund (Napoli) €60m. Since the summer, among the 40 most valuable players, the biggest risers are Martin Baturina (Como), from €30m to €55m, and Milan's pair Gonçalo Ramos, from €30m to €50m, and Diego Moreira, from €25m to €45m.
How to read these numbers
Transfermarkt's estimates are not transfer fees: they are market valuations updated by hand by the site's editors and community, and they also follow results. A team that wins sees its players' estimates rise, and the comparison with the final table only partly accounts for that: this is why, for past seasons, we used only the estimates that predate each of the first five matches.
Today's squad value and past seasons' starting-XI value are not the same measure. The squad includes those who do not play; the XI only the starters. We compare orderings, not amounts. Past tables are rebuilt from points and goal difference, without head-to-head records: where two teams are level the position may differ by one from the official one.
Past measurements describe what happened, not what will happen: 13 seasons are few, and every season has its exceptions, like Napoli in 2024-25.
